About Chic
Chic lives in Perth, Scotland, with his wife Isobel, and together they enjoy life as proud parents and grandparents to five amazing grandchildren.
Chic’s journey has been anything but ordinary. Starting out as a civil engineer—like his father and generations before him—he worked on major infrastructure projects across Scotland. That life brought big responsibilities, frequent moves, and valuable lessons about people, places, and faith. Along the way, Chic helped plant a church and grew a deep love for seeing communities come alive through faith in action.
Eventually, the demands of engineering led him to make a life-changing shift. He took on a new role managing local parks and green spaces, which also gave him the freedom to pastor a church part-time. That experience opened the door to full-time ministry, leading his church into outward-focused mission that made a real difference locally.
Later, Chic stepped into a national role as a workplace chaplain, bringing support, faith, and encouragement into everyday spaces—fire stations, airports, shopping centres, and more. After retiring in 2020 as acting CEO of the chaplaincy organisation, Chic and Isobel spent two unforgettable years traveling across Scotland as reps for a missions organisation, inspiring churches to live missionally.
Now, Chic continues to share from a lifetime of learning, leading, and leaning on grace. His story, often shaped by challenge and change, is a reminder that faith is a journey.
